Biography

Hong-Ryul Jin, MD, PhD, is a Professor and the Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery at Boramae Medical Center, Seoul National University. He received his MD from Seoul National University College of Medicine and his MS and PhD from Seoul National University Postgraduate School. After a rotating internship and a residency in the department of otolaryngology at Seoul National University Hospital, he moved to Samsung Medical Center for a fellowship in the department of otolaryngology. He spent time as a research fellow in the department of otolaryngology at Yamanashi Medical University, Japan, and as a clinical and research fellow in the department of otolaryngology—head and neck surgery at the University of Virginia Health System, USA.

Dr. Jin is licensed to the Korean Board of Otolaryngology and the Korean Board of Traumatology. His professional affiliations include The Korean Medical Association, The Korean Otolaryngologic Society, The Korean Rhinologic Society, The Korean Society of Allergology, The American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, The American Rhinologic Society, The International Rhinologic Society, and the Asian Facial Plastic Surgery Society. He has written numerous papers, chapters, and books, he has received honors and awards throughout his career, and he serves as a manuscript reviewer for professional publications.
