
Biography
Mariano Socolovsky was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1971. He completed his medical education at the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine in 1994. He finished his training in Neurosurgery in 2000 at the Department of Neurosurgery in the Hospital de Clínicas, University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine. He currently chairs the Peripheral Nerve & Brachial Plexus Surgery Program at the Department of Neurosurgery, Hospital de Clinicas, Buenos Aires. Dr. Socolovsky and his team surgically treat more than 500 patients per year who suffer from peripheral nerve, brachial plexus, lumbosacral plexus, and facial nerve injuries.
Dr. Socolovsky has authored 7 books, more than 40 book chapters, and 35 publications indexed in PubMed. He is currently Director of the Argentine Journal of Neurosurgery and editor and reviewer of many journals in Peripheral Nerve Surgery. He is past-chair of the Society of Neurosurgery of Buenos Aires and currently serves as member of the Executive Committee of the Argentine Association of Neurosurgery. He was elected as Chairman of the Peripheral Nerve Committee of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) for 2013 - 2017, is an International Member of the AANS and CNS, and also is a member of the Sunderland Society (North America) & NervClub (Germany).
