
Biography
Dr. David Chow is an assistant professor at the University of Toronto and is on staff at St. Michael’s Hospital. After graduating from McGiIl University Deprartment of Ophthalmology and completing an Ocular Pathology fellowship, he went to Royal Oak, Michigan to train with Associated Retinal Consultants for two years. He subsequently returned to McGill University, where he ran the Retina Fellowship. He then moved to Chicago to join Illinois Retina Consultants, where he restarted the Retina Fellowship program.
Ten years ago, he returned to his hometown of Toronto. He is currently the Co-Director of the Toronto Retina Institute and the Director of the Retina Fellowship at St. Michael’s Hospital. He has served on the Board of Directors for the ASRS as the Film Festival Chairman and as Head of the Research Program. He has over 40 publications and has presented over 400 talks at meetings around the world. He co-created the Canadian Retina Society and started and edited the journal Techniques in Ophthalmology. He has two textbooks published, the most of which is OCT Angiography. He enjoys new technology and has patented many instruments. He loves sports, traveling, and his family.
