Biography
Following extensive training in Lymphedema Management, which started in 1984, Joachim Zuther received his degree as a certified instructor for Manual Lymph Drainage and Complete Decongestive Therapy (MLD/CDT) from the German Physical Therapy Association.
In 1994, he formed the Academy of Lymphatic Studies, a school providing Lymphedema Therapy Certification courses in the United States. Mr. Zuther is an active member of the International Society of Lymphology (ISL), the National Lymphedema Network (NLN) and the German Association of Lymphology (DGL). He is also a founding member of the North American Lymphedema Education Association (NALEA), and member of the International Advisory Board American Lymphedema Framework Project (ALFP).
