Biography
Dr. Maria L. Sheakley, PhD, is a physiologist with over a decade of experience educating medical students. She is well-known for her ability to simplify difficult topics and is the recipient of multiple teaching awards. Dr. Sheakley received her PhD at Kent State University in the department of Biomedical Sciences in the area of Molecular Physiology. She is currently an Associate Professor of Biomedical Sciences at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine with the area of expertise of cardiovascular physiology.
