Biography
Theda C. Kontis, MD, FACS has become a national, and international leader in facial plastic surgery since she began her practice in 1994. An Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Kontis is Board Certified by both the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery. She serves as Senior Oral Examiner for both Board Examinations. Dr. Kontis is a co-owner of the Facial Plastic Surgicenter in Baltimore, which offers cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery including the full range of cosmetic surgery, injectables, skin care, and laser services.
She has served as guest editor for four journals, and is currently the CME Editor for JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery. She is co-author of Cosmetic Injection Techniques: A Text and Video Guide to Neurotoxins and Fillers, published by Thieme and intended for injectors of all skill levels, which continues to be a bestseller in the field.
