Thieme and ResearchGate have begun a collaboration to increase the visibility of scientific content. With over 20 million members, ResearchGate provides a platform for researchers to share and discover research, build their networks, and advance their careers. The collaboration will enable direct access on ResearchGate to all scientific articles in the 50 open access journals published by Thieme, whose mission is to improve health and healthcare by providing the key information at the right time and in the right place.
Thieme and the Dutch Library Consortium UKB have concluded a Read-and-Publish agreement, with the Dutch cooperative association for educational and research institutions SURF serving as intermediary party. The agreement includes eleven leading Dutch universities and provides members of the participating institutions with unlimited read access to a total of 55 Thieme journals. In addition, associated scientists and authors may submit an unlimited number of Open Access scientific articles with no additional article processing charge (APC) and under a CC-BY license. The publication component of the agreement covers 34 (English language) hybrid subscription journals as well as all of Thieme’s Gold Open Access journals. The recently concluded agreement is an expression of the partners’ shared aims of promoting Open Access and the unimpeded diffusion of knowledge in a strategic manner.
A new journey of comprehensive cooperation in international academic information. Baidu Wenku and Thieme Group reached a comprehensive agreement. With Thieme, the first international academic publishing group to cooperate, Baidu Wenku officially starts the new content ecological development in international professional copyright. The two parties jointly promote content and service, and provide systematic and intelligent services for the publication, dissemination, reading, sharing, purchase and management of international academic resources.
Science of Synthesis (SOS) – Thieme’s definitive online reference resource with reviews on reliable synthetic methods in organic chemistry – is pleased to announce the initiation of an Early Career Advisory Board (ECAB) to help promote young talented chemists. 30 Chemists from around the world who have completed their PhD in the past 10 years or who are within the first 5 years of their independent research career will be the voices of their generation and important contributors to SOS’s evolution for the next two years.
Improving patient education and informed consent. Thieme and EIDO are working together to improve patient education in India. The collaboration sees Thieme assume responsibility for sales and marketing activities in the Indian market for EIDO’s INFORM Consent Suite (ICS) – a collection of over 400 procedure-specific, patient education documents for informed consent in surgery – and EIDO’s digital consent solution. Thieme India is a well-established digital health service provider and partner for health information processes in the Indian clinical market. EIDO Healthcare, a British company, is already present in Europe, Australia, North America and Africa, and will expand its Asian operations through this collaboration.
